For me as the apostolic nuncio here in the Philippines, it gives me a lot of joy and happiness to be back here once again, here in Tondo, for this fiesta, we can say, part of the Fiesta of the Kambal na Krus Chapel, which is here to my right, to your left.

On June 18, 2021, I was tasked for the first time to transcribe the message of Archbishop Brown during Cardinal Advincula’s installation as the new Archbishop of Manila.

Five years ago, on September 28, 2020, the Holy Father, Pope Francis appointed Archbishop Charles John Brown, Titular Archbishop of Aquileia, the then Apostolic Nuncio to Albania, as the new Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines.

Today is the Feast also of the Holy Name of Mary. For the monks, it's the Feast of Our Lady of Montserrat.

Today kicks off ten days of joyful preparation for her glorious feast day, which will be on the 14th of September, in a Mass celebrated by His Eminence, Cardinal Advincula. Ten days of celebration of Our Lady.

For me as your Apostolic Nuncio, it gives me a lot of joy and happiness this afternoon to be with you, here in this beautiful arena, for the 11th Philippine Conference on New Evangelization—PCNE in the 11th volume, we can say.

For me as your apostolic nuncio, it gives me a lot of joy and a lot of happiness to be with you this morning, here in your beautiful cathedral, dedicated to St. Gregory the Great (a Pope), here in Legazpi City.

“People do not put new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the skins burst, the wine spills out, and the skins are ruined. Rather, they pour new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved” (Matthew 9:17).

“You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it” (Mathew 16:18).
