by Margaux Salcedo

The Philippines now has an Apostolic Nuncio!

The Vatican has just announced the appointment by the Holy Father of His Excellency Monsignor Charles John Brown, titular archbishop of Aquileia, currently apostolic nuncio in Albania, as apostolic nunio to the Philippines:

Msgr Charles John Brown, born 13 October 1959, is an American-born archbishop who was Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland, then Apostolic Nuncio to Albania before being announced on September 28, 2020 as the new Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines.

Here is the official introduction of His Excellency Most. Rev. Brown from the Apostolic Nunciature in the Philippines:

Before entering the diplomatic service of the Holy See, His Excellency Most Rev. Brown worked at the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

His Excellency Most Rev. Brown succeeds H.E. Gabriele Giordano Caccia who was Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines from September 2017 to November 2019.

Let us offer a prayer of thanksgiving as we prepare to welcome a new apostolic nuncio to the Philippines!
