by Clyde Ericson Nolasco The journey toward World Youth Day (WYD) Seoul 2027 continues as the official theme song of the world’s biggest international Catholic youth gathering was released today, August 3, 2026.

Entitled “Confidite, Ego Vici Mundum” (“Take Courage! I Have Overcome the World”), the song seeks to inspire young people to remain steadfast and peaceful amid the challenges and uncertainties of the world, reminding them of the enduring love and presence of Jesus among them.

Selected from 434 submissions, the theme song was composed by Korean musician Francis Jiyoon Kim and will serve as the musical expression of faith, hope, and courage for young pilgrims preparing for WYD Seoul 2027.

The release also marks the one-year countdown toward the celebration of World Youth Day in Seoul, South Korea, which will gather young Catholics from around the world for a celebration of faith, communion, and mission.

WYD Seoul 2027 will be the second World Youth Day celebration to be held in Asia, 32 years after the historic gathering in Manila in 1995, which welcomed millions of young pilgrims and became the first WYD held in the continent.
