Plenary Indulgence Granted Anew for Whole Month of November

For the first time, in 2020, due to the pandemic, plenary indulgence for our dearly departed was granted by the Vatican for the entire month of November, in consideration of the fact that the faithful, especially those residing in places under lockdown, would be unable to physically go to the cemeteries on All Souls Day.

In the same consideration as the pandemic continues, the Vatican on Thursday extended once again plenary indulgences for our dearly departed for the entire month of November this 2021.

We can now offer Plenary Indulgences for our dearly departed for the entire month of November.

The decree from the Apostolic Penitentiary, dated 27 October 2021, states that it extends "the same spiritual benefits already granted on 22 October 2020".

Below are the ways to obtain a Plenary Indulgence for our dearly departed as stated in the 2020 Decree. These may be obtained on any day of November in order to avoid large gatherings where prohibited.
