March 16, 2026 | San Felipe Neri Parish

Ako po ang nautusan mag share pero lahat po ng pari ay may personal stories of our friendship with Edgard.

We love Ed. We have our memories of Ed — his life, love, learnings, legacy. I find him extraordinary in a very special way.

Ed is a great man. He is a great man of God. In my friendship with him I saw him in his greatness.

Dakila. ... Siya ay isang dakilang tao.

But what is greatness?

In Matthew 20 we always remember the disciples arguing among themselves, sino sa kanila ang pinaka dakila. And Jesus overheard that and came to them and told them ... the greatest amongst you is the one who serves.

The greatest amongst you is the one who serves. And I thought: the greatness of Ed is how he served us.

All of us who are here. In your own personal way...pinaglungkuran niya tayo.

Unang una pinaglingkuran niya ang ating Panginoon. As a Boscoñan—sabi ko sa kaniya buti hindi ka ni-recruit. He served his parents, especially the great Ambassador who gave him the great responsibility of taking care of the ALC Group of Companies. He served his family—his brothers and sisters. He served his loved ones, especially his children. He served his company—the many companies of the Cabangon family, I think more than thirty. ...

At nakita natin during the wake ang daming nagpunta sa kaniya (from) different sectors of society, even government.

Marami siyang pinaglingkuran. At pinaglingkuran niya ang ating simbahan.

Napamana sa kaniya ni Ambassador ang napakagandang ministry, CMMA—Catholic Mass Media Awards—a great contribution to the Catholic Church. And he took that responsibility wholeheartedly and with great passion and conviction.

PInaglingkuran niya ang simbahan. And with my friendship with Ed he served the poor in his own special way. He supported me in Caritas Manila for years ... kapag may fund raising, yung raffle tickets, yung first prize dun sasakyan at si Ed po ang nag do donate ng sasakyan na yan.

A powerful legacy of how it is to be Christian and a Catholic. He may not be perfect but [he was] a servant par excellence.

Let us pray for Ed .That the Lord may be merciful to him, open heaven and invite him to enter the perfect life in heaven.

Thank you Ed for your powerful legacy of service.
