The Jesuit Music Ministry joins the world in celebrating the canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint.

If you would recall, he was supposed to be canonized last April 27. But his canonization was postponed following the death of Pope Francis.
He will be canonized instead this coming September 7, 2025, alongside Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, another young saint, who is revered as the patron saint of the young people and athletes.
The First Millennial Saint
Blessed Carlo Acutis, born in 1991, was recognized for having used the internet to promote devotion to the Eucharist, featuring places around the world where Eucharistic miracles have taken place on his website.
His image even has him in jeans and a jacket, the first saint to be in such clothing.
A Song for Carlo Acutis
Inspired by the life and witness of Blessed Carlo Acutis, Lester Mendiola wrote the communion song “To Be Close to Jesus,” with music by Maria Sophia V. Roldan and arranged by Maria Regina V. Roldan,
You can listen to the song now, performed by the Young Voices of the Philippines, featuring Klaire Tan, Jia Concepcion, and Nelyja Abesamis on https://found.ee/tobeclosetojesus.
